MYSO Invited to Participate in 2012 Summa Cum Laude Festival

The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra has been invited to participate in the 2012 Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria.

MYSO will be joined by orchestras, choirs and bands from throughout the world. All told, there are 35 ensembles participating from 19 countries: 1,400 young musicians in all!

The festival features an opening ceremony in the Stephansdom, workshops at the University of Music, additional concerts throughout Vienna and a competition performance before a jury in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, one of the world’s premiere concert halls. If selected to play in the Gala Winners’ Concert, they’ll do so in a second world-class concert hall: the Konzerthaus.

The days leading up to the festival will see MYSO performing two concerts in the Czech Republic, at the Teplice House of Culture in Teplice, and at the Dvorák Hall in the Rudolfinium in Prague.

Congratulations, MYSO!
