Staffer Spotlight: Yuhi

Welcome to Staffer Spotlight, our new monthly column where we get to know ACFEAers. First up is Yuhi Aizawa Combatti, our new Tour Administrator in the San Francisco office. Take it away, Yuhi!

My husband Tegan and I on New Year’s Eve visiting a Shinto shrine in Kamakura, Japan

Imagine that airline regulations have just changed dramatically: they now only let you take one small tote when you travel abroad. What’s in yours?
Wallet, lip balm, glasses, contact lenses case and solution, passport, planner, cell phone and charger, hand lotion, whatever book I’m reading at the time – currently it’s Seinlanguage by Jerry Seinfeld

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had away from home?
Sushi served omakase (chef’s tasting menu) in Fujisawa, Japan. Every single piece of fish was so fresh it hardly needed any seasoning.

With my parents at Basilica Papale di San Francesco in Assisi, Italy

You’re about to board a 15-hour flight and can sit next to one famous person. Who is it?
Ellen DeGeneres. I feel that I’d be so busy laughing at her jokes that 15 hours would feel like 50 minutes!

You’re suddenly given one million frequent flier miles and one month of vacation. How do you spend it all?
First, I would visit my family in Japan and eat my way through Hokkaido for a week. After that, I would fly over to Turkey for a week, move onto Greece for another week and finally the last week would be spent in Spain.

With fellow musicians after a concert in Fujisawa, Japan. My sister and I had a fantastic time singing some beautiful Handel duets!

And that old classic question: Which 5 albums would you want if you were stuck on a desert island?
Rubber Soul (the Beatles), Messiah (Sylvia McNair, Anne Sofie von Otter & Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Field, 1992), Rent (1996 Original Broadway Cast), St. Matthew Passion (Barbara Bonney, Anne Sofie von Otter & Monteverdi Choir, 1989), Ladies of the Canyon (Joni Mitchell)
