Brazil is South America’s largest country and one of the most intriguing due to its wonderfully diverse population. The distinctive Brazilian identity sets itself apart with its unique musical style, culture and language. The country is vast, therefore various itineraries are possible. If your group enjoys sophisticated large cities, then make your way to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. Both of these destinations offer wonderful concert venues, sightseeing and cultural activities to keep your group entertained. Paraty, Ouro Preto and Petrópolis are examples of smaller historical towns that can be included to balance the tour experience and offer intimate concert opportunities.

“It’s hard to think about Brazil without a vision of beautiful, tanned people on a pristine sandy beach under palm trees with the faint sound of ‘The Girl from Ipanema‘ playing somewhere in the background. In fact, it’s actually hard to GO to Brazil without this playing out in reality. Iconic Brazil, with its incredible scenery, provides any tourist with lots to see and do. What I didn’t realize before I traveled to Brazil with the Citrus Singers from California was that there is a whole lot of classical music going on there as well. The group performed three different concerts in Brazil, each wildly different – from a joint concert with a São Paulo show choir to a full concert in an opera house in Niteroi, outside Rio, to an all a cappella, sacred concert in a colonial church in the idyllic beach town of Paraty. Capping that off with a full day of swimming and snorkeling from a chartered schooner, I asked myself, ‘does it get better than this?’ “
