Live Blog from Chorus America: (Friday, June 15, around 9:45pm)

Couldn’t be prouder! Hugh, on behalf of ACFEA, was the highest bidder on this year’s commission contribution from composer Shawn Crouch. I was even more excited when we made the collaborative decision that no other group would be a more appropriate recipient than the Boston Children’s Chorus. Lexington High School Choirs Touches Estonian Choral History

There are many reasons that can lead a group to tour. Some groups strive to connect with local audiences through sharing of their music. Others want the thrill of performing in specially-chosen halls. For the Lexington High School Choirs from Lexington, Massachusetts, one of their priorities was to touch history. Specifically, that of Estonia's Singing Revolution.

Dalton School Raises 600 Euro for Local German Charities

Congratulations to the Dalton School Chorus from New York City, who raised over €600 for three charities in Wangen, Germany. The benefit concert was at Wangen's beautiful Spitalkirche, where the choir presented a program including pieces by Pergolesi, Bruckner, Morley and Brunner. "Wangen was an enchanting town; they really pulled out the stops for us. Such lovely people," said Judy Wohlreich, of the school. The choir members were also guests in the homes of several generous local hosts, a tour highlight for many.
