Meet the Courier: Raffaella

Hello! My name is Raffaella, I am a graduate of the University of Bologna, a licensed tour manager, a licensed tour guide and I love my job. In 2005 I started working with ACFEA and we have stayed together ever since.

What do you do when you’re not leading an ACFEA tour?
In that part of my life I occasionally try to get some rest, I enjoy the company of friends and family, I go to concerts, I get my bicycle out, I drive to the coast to see the sea, I search for a quiet corner with a lot of light to read a book and quite soon I end up planning my upcoming tour!

If you were stuck on an island and could only have three things, what would they be?
I would choose my mobile phone, a bottle of water and a scarf, hoping that I can charge my phone with solar power on that island…

What’s the best thing you’ve learned on tour?
I have learned that you cannot take anything for granted. Ever. As simple as that.

Where’s your favorite place to lead a group?
Probably the one I have not visited for a while, or a new destination. My favorite group tours of the past 10 years have been to Sicily, to Emilia Romagna (the lovely Region where I come from), to the Alps, to Slovenia, to Spain and to Turkey, just to name a few….

What’s your favorite thing about being a courier?
Sharing the journey across a beautiful country with a group is my favorite thing. If you are a people person, you know what I mean.
