The Seattle area has long been rich with high school jazz talent. Bands from Western Washington consistently are invited to the top jazz festivals and competitions in the country. We are honored to work with two of these bands, the Garfield High School Jazz Band, directed by Clarence Acox, and the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band, directed by Scott Brown. For their 2016 European tours, these groups were looking to play at some of Europe’s most prestigious jazz festivals.
This summer, Sacramento Children’s Chorus and Seattle Girls’ Choir, two longtime ACFEA clients, travelled to Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, marking SCC’s seventh and SGC’s sixth tours with ACFEA. Both groups were looking for something a little different than their many other European tours, and their visits to this unique corner of the world left deep and lasting impressions.
Welcome home to the Seattle Girls' Choir! It sounds like they had a fantastic tour of the Baltics. Their manager, Stacia Cammarano, said, “This tour is sublime/perfect/special/amazing…you name it. I don’t know where to begin! Dace has been a fantastic courier and the local reps in each country so far have done amazing work here to prep and promote our concerts.
Idaho State University Chamber Choir is having a great tour of the UK! They’ve had a chance to sing in some incredible venues, including St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, Durham Cathedral, Worcester Cathedral, and Ely Cathedral’s famed Lady Chapel. Enjoy these pictures from courier Andre Havard. Thanks, Andre!
